Hadassah: Treatment for Brain Aneurysm
Press release
When the large brain aneurysm of 35-year-old patient doubled its size in ten days, Prof. Jose Cohen and his colleagues in the Department of Neurosurgery at Hadassah Hospital of Jerusalem pioneered a new technique to save his life.
With the assistance of Prof. Moshe Gomory, Head of Hadassah’s Neuroradiology and Magnetic Resonance Unit, and highly advanced equipment, they built an artificial artery inside the brain aneurysm. “The immediate results are very encouraging and offer a new option for treating a disease that, so far, has had no cure”, said Prof. Cohen.
