Cellulite Treatment with VASERsmooth
The VASERsmooth method is similar in many ways to the VASER® Lipo treatment that Dr. Sorokin uses for a wide variety of fat removal and body sculpting procedures. After the site is numbed by a local anesthetic, the targeted areas are saturated with a tumescent fluid to control bruising, swelling and discomfort. He then inserts the special VASERsmooth ultrasonic probe through tiny incisions near the areas he’s going to treat. Ultrasonic waves heat, separate and emulsify the swollen fat cells that cause bumps of cellulite, while the side-cutting action of the specially designed probe releases fibrous bands of connective tissue that pull down on the skin and create dimples. As with regular VASER Lipo, Dr. Sorokin uses a thin, hollow tube called a cannula to gently suction out the liquefied fat.

VASERsmooth vs. Cellulaze™
VASERsmooth is a faster, more effective method than Cellulaze for treating cellulite and the fibrous bands of tissue that pull down and cause dimples in the surface of the skin. While Cellulaze uses a laser beneath the skin to burn through connective tissue, the special VASERsmooth probe uses ultrasonic technology to gently release the restrictive tissue bands and enables the doctor to have more precise control. The VASERsmooth probe disrupts and dissolves the enlarged, cellulite-causing fat cells without disturbing the surrounding tissues, nerves and blood vessels.
Recovery after VASERsmooth
The recovery process is quick and easy with VASERsmooth because the ultrasonic technology loosens fat and releases restrictive tissue without harming blood vessels, nerves or other surrounding tissue. As a result, VASERsmooth patients experience less bruising, swelling and pain than with other techniques.
You may need to wear compression garments on the treated areas for about 2 weeks to promote smooth, even healing. Considerable change will be noticeable right away, and the appearance of the treated area will continue to improve during the 3 to 4 ensuing months. While the possibility exists that cellulite will return following VASERsmooth treatment, a healthful diet and regular exercise will aid in prolonging the results of the treatment.
